Voltage When Moving Abroad

The US and Canada use 110-120V at 60Hz. Most of Europe, including Portugal, uses 220-240V at 50Hz. Many modern electronics (phones, laptops) are dual-voltage (100-240V) and only need a plug adapter. High-wattage appliances like hair dryers, electric kettles, and kitchen appliances are usually single-voltage and require a proper voltage converter.
